Lobi Stars new boy, Eze Stephen, is excited with his matchday goal on his debut in the Caf Confederation Cup for Nigerian side, Lobi Stars.

Stephen, who was promoted to the first-team from the club’s youth side (Lobi Juniors) that campaigns in Nigeria’s amateur cadre (the Nigeria Nationwide League), got a rear chance to start in Sunday’s Caf Confederation Cup first round clash against Mozambican side, Liga Muçulmana de Maputo (LDMM).
The central defender became matchday hero when his goal gave Lobi Stars a massive two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg in Maputo.
“It’s a great experience for me to score after coming from the youth side. I prayed to be in the squad for the match and was thrilled when the manager (Dominic Iorfa) called my name,” Stephen said to supersport.com.
Stephen told supersport.com that the chance to play with players from the national camp equally boosted his morale.
“The presence of players like Ezekiel Bassey, Tony Okpotu, John Lawrence helped me on the field. I enjoyed my time on the field with them.” he stated.
Stephen’s performance on matchday clearly confirms the quality of Lobi Stars’ youth system.
