Nigeria to take on Honduras
African champions, Nigeria have been confirmed for an international friendly with Honduras billed for Washington on May 26.

According to reports from the Central American nation, the president of the Football Federation of Honduras, Rafael Callejas, confirmed that La Bicolor will play a friendly match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria before facing Israel in June as part of their build-up for the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualification in the Concacaf region.

"First there was confusion because (Honduras head coach) Luis Fernando Suarez thought he'll play against Nigeria on June 2 but the game is on May 26 and the June 2 game is against Israel. So it is a clear issue," said Callejas.
But the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) could not confirm the proposed tune-up game with Honduras when supersport.com sought clarification on Monday.

With the federation's general secretary, Musa Amadu, in Morocco for the Caf congress held on Sunday, its assistant director on media, Ademola Olajire who spoke to supersport.com could not immediately confirm the game.

"I'm not aware of this game (against Honduras). The only confirmed friendly match before me right now is the one against Mexico in Texas on May 31," Olajire said.

Nigeria's Super Eagles are scheduled to take part in the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup in Brazil as African champions and they are drawn alongside world champions, Spain, Uruguay and Tahiti in Group B.
