Former Heartland right-back, Chibuzor Okonkwo has said he is confident of getting called into the Super Eagles for the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Calabar on March 23.
Super Eagles' manager, Stephen Keshi is expected to name his list of players for the qualifier before the month runs out as the domestic players are billed to be in camp first week of March while the foreign legion will hit camp a week to the crucial game.
Okonkwo missed the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa due to non-possession of valid Shengen visa that denied him the opportunity to vie for a place in the team's pre-tournament camp in Faro, Portugal.
The former Bayelsa United strongman said he will be excited to give his best to ensure the team qualify for the World Cup.
"I'm looking forward to it, to be invited for the World Cup qualifier against Kenya.
"I'll be happy to be part of the squad to face Kenya having lost similar opportunity to contribute my quota at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
"I'll see the invitation as a divine opportunity to ensure we book our ticket for the World Cup in Brazil," said the Super Eagles' defender to supersport.com.
Okonkwo, who foresees a tough duel against the Kenyans, however said Eagles will cut them to size.
"Kenya won't stop us though they are a good side. We'll always cut them to size," he said.
Nigeria lead Group F on four points after a win and draw against Namibia and Malawi respectively in the qualifying race
